The name Twirrewyn is Frisian for ‘Whirlwind’. I always had a thing for the Frisian language: it is somewhat a mix of English and Dutch. When I was in college and studying journalism in Zwolle which is a city close to Fryslân there were many Frisian students and I did get to learn few words in the language.
Twirrewyn is a handmade font family: the fat one was created using a brush and ink the light one was created using the same ink but with a broken satay skewer. Well, yes, you guessed it right, we consume a lot of Satay here! 😉
