The principal concept for Righteous was the all capitals letterforms reminiscent of the deco posters of Hungarian artist Robert Berény for Modiano. In execution, the letterforms are based on a grid and geometric in nature, with a high level of legibility at a variety of sizes. Thus, Righteous has a full lowercase to allow for greater flexibility of use, unlike the inspiration source.
