Bevan is a new form of a classic typeface, a slab serif display typeface designed by Heinrich Jost in the 1930s. Thus, in the case of Bevan, the original letter forms that Jost have written in earlier letters have been converted into webfont and the counters of the typeface have been slightly opened and the stems have been optimised for using as bold display font in the modern web browsers.
Upgrade December 2021: an Italic style was added during the Summer of Type Program 2016, with the help of Kalapi Gajjar-Bordawekar & Jacques Le Bailly.
