Gentium Basic Font Family

The Gentium Basic font family includes the original Gentium with further weights added. The family is available in regular, bold, italic and bold italic fonts are completely included in the package.

The supported character set, however, is significantly more limited than for the main Gentium Plus fonts. These “Basic” fonts are limited to the Basic Latin and Latin-1 Supplement Unicode character sets, together with some of the most frequently encountered additional Latin letters, combined with various accents, signs, symbols, and punctuations.

First of all, these fonts do not include full extended Latin IPA, they do not support Central European languages fully, do not support Greek and Cyrillic at all. The Gentium Book Basic family is similar to the above but has a slightly more condensed weight.
