Octuple max is an example of typographic experiment, in which all dimensions of characters and metrics are eight times multiple. It is a very inclined typeface with a square proportion, large contrast between the horizontal/vertical bars and rounded at each corner.
I started with an inclination of 32° for all the letters, then I built a grid with horizontal divisions of 48/units of height, this is how I defined the height of the x: The height of the capital letters and ascenders: 48/1 = 528/ u, the descenders: 48 / 4 = 192/ u, and the baseline of the diacritics: 48 / 17 = 816/ u.
The width of the vertical shafts is 48×7=336/u, the horizontal shafts have a height of 48/u, the lowercase letters have a small optical correction in the measurements of the vertical shafts.
