For example, Ruth Script is perfect for neon signs. I don’t think it stretches the point all that far to suggest that some of the places where these signs can be found were among those used as reference points: neon lights hang outside many bars and billiard parlours on the edge of town while you need only walk another block towards home to see a whole cluster of motels lining either side of Sherry Avenue.
The scripts are a treasure trove of alternatives both aesthetic and functional which allow for any possibility or combination. What that universe looks like depends on our language and imagination coexist.
