Corbel was developed by Jeremy Tankard for Microsoft in the year 2005 and was released as part of the ClearType Font Collection package which was a part of Windows Vista operating system. For the same, all Microsoft Clear Type fonts begin with the letter C to depict compatibility with the text rendering engine of the company and to enhance the readability of text in LCD monitors. Other fonts that are in this category include Calibri, Cambria, Candara, Consolas and Constantia.
