IKEA is an established Swedish furniture maker known for producing ready-to-assemble furniture such as bookshelves, desks and beds that is ready-to-assemble. Its name derives from three initials derived from three initials associated with its founder Ingvar Kamprad; Elmtarvd Farm where he was raised; and Agunnaryd village which houses him. IKEA furniture has proven hugely popular with young people thanks to its distinctive designs and low cost offerings.
