Bodoni Sans Text Font Family

Bodoni Sans is a new classic, but built on the history of two hundred years. Fresh and contemporary, but at the same time somehow familiar. Stylish and sophisticated, bold and graceful. Bodoni Sans is not just Bodoni without serifs. It retains the classical proportions of the capitals and x-heights, but the letterforms have been rebalanced for use without serifs. Although some of the widths were adjusted for the contemporary appearance, and a new Light weight was designed, for example.

The high contrast is the main visual feature of Bodoni Sans. To preserve the appearance at very small and very large sizes, three optical sizes are drawn: Standard, Display, and Text. The contrast between the thick and thin strokes varies for each optical size according to the actual size, also the Stem/thin adjustment and Humanist/modern aspect adjustment. The Standard is ideal for the middle range between 12 and 60pt, the Display for 48pt and above, and the Text between 6 and 12 pt.

While the typeface is mainly intended for print applications, the Web/Digital was also important when creating Bodoni Sans. The fonts were tested as web formats and looked at on several screens, and can confirm that they work great both in print and rational pixels.
