As for Balthazar, it could be considered as a modern interpretation of the Copperplate Gothic typeface with the reference to cafes and bistros of New York and Paris. It may contain lowercase letters to achieve a more realistic Cooperplate Gothic look and feel, its high x-height will give a thin look like that of the original Cooperplate Gothic design and style.
The basic font is more condensed and has diagonal pressure along with subtle variation in the contrast which makes it more readable. Heavy to make a better rasterization on the screen than the normal; the text sizes are retained to be legible due to thin serifs; making a pretty good visual experience around the screen.
Bigger sizes unveil its big personality in its serif information as well as the difference in the strokes of the letters that makes for an interesting mix. Best suited for text that include headline and short text but also good for screen display. It was designed by Dario Muhafara from Tipo Foundry.
