Berlin can be best described as an eclectic array of display fonts inspired by geometric fonts of early 20th century geometric typography. Up to now there have been four versions with three different weights; regular, bold and X-bold. This year Mark and I worked together to redesign Mr Red’s new designs as we sought to come up with a font system that could easily be used on sayings and promotional materials.
Since I am no type designer, this process was really heavy and took me quite some time. We eventually settled on hand-crafted designs as well as delaying its release; but, I continued working on it in my free time and managed to finish various variations: Berlin, Slaberlin and Uberlin with three weights (Regular, Bold and X-Bold for Uberlin and Italic for Berlin).
