Carter is an evolution of specific casual typeforms which were widespread at the middle of the twentieth century and can be seen in use in advertising or even on the covers of pulp novels. The letterforms have been redesigned and adapted for the web as for instance opening counterforms slightly and optimizing stems for display typography.
