Deansgate Font

Deansgate and Deansgate Condensed are derived from the most legible and characteristic of the sans serif letterforms typically used on Manchester street nameplates and have a distinctive pointy ‘Z’ and pointy vertex/apex on M and W.

The Bold weights of each family are ideal for signs, with monoline strokes perfect for close-up or distance reading and the legible, slightly ‘squarified’ round shapes typical of grotesque faces. The lowercase in the new variant is a reference to the Transport fonts, and the Regular and Light weights bring the clarity of the bold to Deansgate’s text fonts that are suitable for web or print.

The families consists of six fonts – Regular, Bold and Light, and matching Italics for each of the weights.
