Introducing Gilbert Font. It is design and shared by Animography. On the 31st of March 2017, Gilbert Baker, the artist behind the Rainbow Flag design passed on. Mr. Baker was an activist and artist, who was part of the LGBTQ community and who worked with friends to make banners for protests and marches.
In collaboration with Fontself and Animography, NewFest and NYC Pride have released a free typeface that is based on the aesthetics of the Rainbow Flag, named ‘Gilbert’ after the late artist, Gilbert Baker.
Its flexibility in design allows for headlines, logos and branding, displays, invitations, posters, packaging, blog headers, recipe cards, postcards and more.
