Modak Font Free

Modak font is a pleasant display font typeface designed by Ek Type. Modak is a free and open-source, heavy chubby Devanagari Latin display font. It initially emerged as one of the numerous hand drawn letterform conceptualizations that we are fond of creating. The characters were chubby/spherical and therefore not hard/solid. The Matras and the consonants were elements that were in the same slot: not arranged one below the other as are the Fb’s and the vowels.

Conjuncts were illustrated in their fused form where two separated excepted characters would join each other. This was the case particularly as there was a need to keep the counter spaces in all characters thin and white despite their probably complex structures.

With a view toward constructing this into a functional font, we have created further Matras that would correspond precisely with any sort of character and that would cause a slim space between them. Custom Ukars were created base on each character.
