Noctis was originally created as a single weight display font, by Luca Terzo drawing inspiration from the wedge serifs in Aldo Novareses 1972 typeface for H. Berthold A.G., Primate. The Italian Type team expanded the design into a family of five weights each accompanied by its true italic version along with a set of decorative patterns.
With an extensive Latin character set comprising 481 glyphs that support over 190 languages Noctis also offers OpenType features such as discretionary ligatures, positional numerals, stylistic alternates and case sensitive brackets.
