Since 2001, I’ve created the NovaCut font for stone engravings. At first, this font only had capitals and digits; it was limited to stone and paper inscribed stones until 2010. At that point, I decided to transition it onto an electronic computer and add lowercase letters that had been missing as well as basic signs. It became known as Gothica.
As I worked through my task, I developed various variations of letters. Once completed, there was plenty of material. So I decided to use these variations of letters as building blocks for new fonts – eventually creating six fonts I liked that I renamed Nova (NovaCut, NovaFlat, NovaOval, NovaRound, NovaSlim and NovaSquare – these fonts are designed specifically for people). Later I added NovaMono as part of this family.
