Ferdinand Porsche established Porsche in Stuttgart in 1931, where they began designing and developing automotive engines as well as providing engineering and consulting services to various automobile firms such as Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Decavo Opel Wonder DaimlerBenz Otto Union.
One of the initial projects undertaken by the newly founded Porsche Company was Volkswagen, or Car for People in German. In the late 1930s, Ferdinand Porsche was invited by Nazi German authorities to design this landmark automobile; today known as Volkswagen Beetle it remains amongst the most iconic automobiles ever created.
