Designed for reading web content, Rasa currently supports 92 languages based on the Latin script and 2 based on the Gujarati script (Gujarati and Kachchi). The fonts covers the numerous numbers of basic as well as compound syllables that are used in Gujarati language. It has also other versions, one of which is Yrsa, which is in Latin only. As for the glyphs implemented, Rasa is a superset of Yrsa and encodes the full Latin but in Rasa the Latin may be changed to accommodate the primary Gujarati font.
It is a deliberate experiment in remixing existing typefaces: The Latin part started with Eben Sorkin’s Merriweather. It started with David Březina’s Skolar Gujarati.
