Renner, on the other hand, is a font of the new digital era. Its design was inspired by Paul Renner who created Futura. Renner is a new font that tries to keep the spirit of Futura rather than the exact design. Futura was designed as functional in its day, and so Renner aims to be as functional as possible in the digital era.
Because of this, it does not follow Paul Renner’s designs exactly, choosing, for example, a higher x-height. It contains also functions, a lot of which would be impossible to realize in the age of Paul Renner. Renner has 9 weights beginning from Hairline to Black. It covers multiple languages, contains stylitical alternatives, and both tabular and proportional numbers.
