To this end, Sitka font developed for Windows 8 has been integrated into IE 11 reading view. 1 This is by Mathew Carter in collaboration with The Advanced Reading Technologies team who had earlier on integrated Clear Type text rendering technology to enhance reading through online and Print media.
Sitka was also the first font series developed based on legibility research which means that scientific legibility analysis was incorporated in the design process of every phase. The process of conducting a formal study on the legibility of the fonts only starts near the completion of the design process; the fonts that get such a study are explored after the design is completed. sitka however had to go through the test of legibility in every aspect of the design.
