Supreme was launched in 1994 as a small skateboarding shop in the lower part of Manhattan, New York. It has however grown into a large chain of stores that focuses on street fashion and art and has teamed up with designers, artists, photographers, skaters and other celebrities to spread it. Supreme very shortly discovered that its market and its source of creativity lied among the youth.

The logo of the Supreme Box is a rectangular box with the words Supreme Box written in it in bold italics with a rightward slope, and the font used is the Futura Heavy Oblique designed by Paul Renner for the Bauer Type Foundry in 1927 for use with their black and red logo.
