IBM (International Business Machines) is an American multinational technology and consulting firm headquartered in Armonk, New York. In 2011, it was ranked the 20th largest firm in the U.S. by Fortune and the 33rd largest globally by Forbes.
The font used for the IBM logo is very similar to a commercial font called City Medium with modifications making it more solid, grounded and balanced in appearance. A free font called Men in Blue is also very similar to the lettering and it is available for free download link.
